On Tuesday, March 11, 2008, Austin Demetrius Brown of Indian Head, Maryland suddenly departed this life for one eternal. He was the son of the late Austin and the late Agnes “Hilda” Brown.
Demetrius or “Meat,” as he was more affectionately known, was born in Washington, D.C. on December 19, 1968. He was educated in Charles County and graduated from Henry E. Lackey Senior High School. He also received his certification in Accounting from Yorktowne Business Institute, Landover, MD.
Demetrius was employed by District Photo, Beltsville, MD as a Customer Representative. He also worked as a Business Office Assistant for Genesis Potomac Center, Arlington, VA and a Collection Support Clerk, Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, MD.
The joy of Demetrius’ life was found in the company of his two sons, Donya Demetrius Brown and DeAundrea LaQuay Proctor. He wanted to live his life in such a way as to show his children what life could offer them.
He also enjoyed football, fishing, pool, bowling and he listened to all types of music. When his mother was living, Demetrius found great satisfaction in keeping her happy and making everyone around him feel like family.
He was a dedicated person, an achiever, a hard worker and loving. Demetrius was a “one of a kind” person who served as a role model for his boys. He made life seem easy and bad times seem not so bad! He will remain loved in this life.
His viewing will take place on Thursday, March 20th, 9:00a.m. until service time 11:00a.m. at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Pomfret, MD
